In an era where digital literacy is no longer a luxury but a necessity, Sharebility Uganda is at the forefront of transforming education in resource-constrained environments. As a leading EduTech social enterprise founded in 2020, Sharebility has built a reputation for delivering scalable, impactful technology solutions that empower educators and learners alike. Our partnership with Edify Uganda exemplifies this commitment: since August 2024, EduTech trainings have been conducted in 99 low-fee private Christian schools, equipping over 1,076 educators with essential 21st-century skills. This initiative, highlighted through our vibrant #EdifyEdTech campaign on X, is not just about technologyโ€”it’s about fostering sustainable change that uplifts communities and prepares Uganda’s youth for a digital future.

Through innovative programs like online and  offline digital libraries (e.g  Sharebility.net  and Kolibri), teacher ICT integration  trainings, and student ICT club mentorships, Sharebility demonstrates its proven ability to bridge the digital divide. Our expertise in customizing EdTech for grassroots settings has already impacted thousands, and we’re poised to expand partnerships with organizations seeking to drive societal progress through education.

Empowering Educators:What Happens in a Sharebility-Led EdTech Workshop

Each one-day, in-school training sessionโ€”fully funded by Edify and expertly facilitated by Sharebilityโ€”is meticulously tailored to the unique needs of low-resource schools. Our approach emphasizes practical, hands-on learning to ensure immediate applicability. Key components include:

  • ICT Integration in Lesson Planning and Delivery: Teachers learn to weave technology into everyday teaching, using tools like Zoom, Google Classroom, and interactive platforms.
  • Digital Content Creation: Hands-on sessions with multimedia tools such as CapCut for video editing and Microsoft 365 for creating engaging resources.
  • Data Management and Assessment: Utilizing spreadsheets for student tracking and performance analysis.
  • Responsible Digital Practices: Guidance on internet safety, email usage, and ethical technology adoption.
  • School Management Systems: Introduction to platforms like SurePay for efficient administration and fees collection.
  • Policy Development and Sustainability: Consistent use of ICTs in T&L, with clear school policies for sustainable, long-term edutech adoption.
  • BYOD Innovation: Encouraging bring-your-own-device strategies, turning smartphones into powerful educational tools in the absence of computer labs.

These workshops, conducted across Central, Eastern, Western, and Northern Uganda, have sparked a cultural shift, proving that even limited infrastructure can’t hinder progress when guided by Sharebility’s adaptive expertise.

By immersing themselves in digital skill learning, these teachers are being equipped to effectively teach and mentor the digital citizens of todayโ€™s era.โ€

Real Praise, Real Impact: Voices from the Ground

At Victorious Junior School, educators praised the appointment of EdTech patrons for sustained support. Video testimonials reveal heartfelt gratitude, with one teacher noting, “Sharebility has equipped us to mentor digital citizens.”

This acclaim highlights our track record: over 1,000 educators trained, over 100 schools transformed, and countless students poised for success.

What We’ve Learned: Sharebility’s Proven Model for Scalable Impact

This project reaffirms key insights:

  • Adaptability Overcomes Barriers: Even without labs, teachers innovate with smartphonesโ€” BYOD strategies make this possible.
  • Training Sparks Institutional Change: Schools are eager for policies and clubs; our guidance turns enthusiasm into action.
  • Faith-Based Contexts Thrive: Integrating technology enhances discipleship and management in Christian schools.
  • Sustainability is Key: Follow-ups, loans, and mentorship ensure long-term adoption.
